Simulation of interventional radiology procedures. This is one of our most active projects, which goal is simply to provide the most realistic simulation system ever. While the current prototype is developed for training interventional neuro-radiologists, the technology involved can be applied to any interventional radiology specialty, from cardiology to abdominal interventions

Simulation of cataract surgery. This recently started project aims essentially at illustrating the role of SOFA as a rapid prototyping tool for developing training systems. The current simulation allows to perform a "phacoemulsification" on the eye lens. During this important stage of the procedure, the lens is emulsified with an ultrasonic handpiece, and aspirated from the eye. An implant is then inserted in the eye to replace the opacified lens.

Simulation of a virtual hand. In this project, we propose a virtual hand that relies on physical model of friction contact. It allows for realistic grasping of rigid and deformable bodies.

Grimage: Markerless 3D Interactions. We were present at Siggraph 2007 Emerging Technologies with an interactive demo integrating SOFA in the GrImage realtime multi-cameras 3D acquisition platform.
