VirtualiSurg is an innovative startup created in 2017 and specialized in medical training. The company focuses on the production of multi-sensory surgery simulators for the training of medical and paramedical teams, and dedicated to tasks performed in operating rooms, on a set of medical and surgical disciplines. VirtualiSurg now has 16 FTEs in a multicultural and very strongly interdisciplinary team. Their ambition: give each surgeon and medical student the opportunity to be able to train with the experience and best practices provided by experts.

Job Description

As part of its strong growth and ongoing projects, VirtualiSurg seeks to develop expertise internally around anatomical deformation (organs, tissues, etc.) in real time in virtual reality to strengthen its capacity to produce highly immersive and realistic virtual simulators and environments.


Develop in Unity the new anatomical deformation modules of our simulators, in connection with the medical script previously established by the project team; -Coordinate with the activity of the 3D artistic teams and VR developers in connection with the immersive experience in real time ; -Perform research and development activities for software solutions related to anatomical deformation in real time; -Ensure a multidisciplinary technological watch covering its fields of activity; -Be a force of proposal to identify new scientific / technological partnerships ; -Participate in the tests and the corrective and evolutionary maintenance of our simulators; -Contribute to the analysis of the technical feasibility of customer requests and collective reflections in the implementation of customer quotes or positioning of the company on new projects or financing files; -Contribute to the company’s development and R&D roadmap, a as well as the implementation of industrialization methods

Profile and requirements

  • PhD or other in-depth expertise on anatomical deformation in 3D
  • Knowledge of Unity on virtual reality projects
  • Knowledge of SOFA software would be a plus
  • Experience with a real-time mesh deformation engine, type “softbodies”
  • A good command of English would be a plus, given our international portfolio of clients and projects
  • Passionate about innovation, new technologies and the creation of virtual experiences
  • A knowledge of the medical world would be a plus
