The myocardium is the heart muscle that contracts depending on the concentration of free calcium ions in the cells. This physiological model describes the mechanical contraction of the heart muscle. Based on the Bestel-Clément-Sorine model, it involves a passive non-linear elasticity and an active fibre contraction. Finally, an haemodynamic model in order to take into account the presence of blood inside the ventricles.
