Here is a picture of what I mean by the unwanted stretching of the border when gripped
Hi @Hugo, thank you for your prompt reply
Oh okay good, I’m still on branch 17.06, I have some python issues with the master branch.
Using a coarser mesh for collision sounds like a nice idea, i’ll try that soon thanks.
The additional stiffness in the borders was required because of the unwanted stretching of the cloth when gripped at a single…[Read more]
Thank you very much, I am currently able to achieve all the above required functionalities with your inputs !
One of my only concern is the speed of simulation, adding friction has slowed it down quite a bit, could you suggest ways to speed up the simulation (like without rendering is one solution that I use), I have also tried to…[Read more]
I am trying to simulate a cloth on a rigid surface (table).
* Friction between the cloth and the table
* Collision between the cloth and the table
* There is friction and collision between the rigid block and the table as taken from the examples/constraints/friction example. But this is also not perfect…[Read more]
Hello, I am working with SofaPython plugin for a cloth simulation case,
The simulationStep(dt) function use does not update the visuals, all the other aspects of the simulation are taking place, attaching the link to a video showing this behavior
I am calling the simulationStep(dt) function inside a onKeyPressed(self,k) function…[Read more]
Hello, excuse me for the recurring posts, but I figured out how to solve this 😀
Thanks a lot @hugo
Hi, by the way I also tried to just make the
constraintFactor = 0but that does not seem to work, it does not allow me to change the constraint factor from the python script. Any help on this would be appreciated!
Thanks a lot, I figured out how to AttachConstraint the cloth with the object 🙂
But now, I am trying to find a way to deactivate the AttachConstraint through a python script, simply doing
attachConstraintObj.activated = Falsedoes not help as there is no activated attribute. Is there a way I can deactivate the constraint through a…[Read more]
Thank you for your reply on post
That question was a part of a bigger problem I am trying to solve, so I will ask you about the main problem here which is more related to this thread
I am working on a cloth simulation as shown in this image,
Rishabh replied to the topic How can I get the index of the tetrahedron which contain a particular point? in the forum Using SOFA 1 year, 4 months ago
How would you find the vertex numbers for any given general mesh? When not using the TetrahedronSetGeometryAlgorithm
Hello ElDwiniy, if you would be able to give me a hint towards how to go about doing it with RigidMapping, I might be able to help as well! any minor directions would be appreciated 😀
Hello, yes sure, here is my script, https://gist.github.com/jangirrishabh/20ac603134528219a8b3a2c2667172f5
Hello ElDiwiny, that was a good illustration of what my simulation looks like! and now assume that rather than using the mouse to move the cloth points, I want an automated python script to move a pointer object, a red sphere in this case, please have a look at this video
Hello ElDiwiny, thanks for your quick response.
So, in the way that we can use SHIFT+LeftMouseClick in GUI to pick up objects, is there a functionality in SofaPython Plugin which allows us to pick up objects in a similar manner?
For example, if I have a cloth lying on a table and I wish to pick it up by attaching its vertex to a small point…[Read more]
Hello, I am working on a cloth simulation problem and in my framework I plan to manipulate the cloth with a point object, now to pick up the object, in a manner similar to SHIFT+LeftMouseClick, is there a function in python to do the same? If not, is there anything similar to that?
