I’m working on a simulation with a pneunet, which has a cavity that is pressurized.
I am experiencing some issues due to mapping. Specifically, it seems that the nodes of the “cavity” mesh are being mapped to incorrect nodes in the surrounding pneunet mesh (so pressure is being applied to the wrong pneunet nodes as the cavity pressurizes).…[Read more]
I have a SOFA scene with a single pneunet actuator. It is oriented horizontally, with the base fixed in place (gravity is off), and it bends downward as its cavity is pressurized. (Near identical to the pneunet example from the SoftRobots plugin.)

I’m trying to use SOFA to simulate a soft object that has a thin rectangular cavity inside it. Within the cavity, I want to place another, stiffer object. (The purpose of this is to mimic a rectangular silicone object with a paper layer inside)

After some debugging I’ve figured out the issue:
– I had Python 3.8 installed, but it looks like Python 2.7 is required
– After rolling back to Python 2.7 and installing numpy, until Command Prompt outputs match those given in this thread, I was able to open the .pyscn files no problem.
I am new to SOFA and am trying to use the SoftRobotics plugin. So far, I’ve only used XML .scn files with SOFA.
I’ve downloaded the binaries file (https://project.inria.fr/softrobot/install-get-started-2/download/) and can open SOFA, but cannot open any of the included tutorials with the “.pyscn” file type.
