A consortium is starting around SOFA. The first position of software engineer in the context of this consortium is now open!
Your mission would be to guide the development of the consortium by providing support to the members of the consortium and to the SOFA community. Other tasks are planed such as answering the user forum, the developer mailing-list and participating to the community events. Tutorials and documentation of the framework should be improved. A “store” should be developed on the SOFA website to highlight the main SOFA modules. Autonomy and curiosity will be a key quality for this position.

When I looked for a software engineer it was horrible! In this time outsourcing software developers helps me a lot.
Hope this article can help you if you decided to outsource this work: https://www.n-ix.com/15-criteria-choosing-software-development-company-2019-beyond/22 August 2019 at 18 h 42 min #14141LekanParticipant
Are remote positions available?23 August 2019 at 9 h 46 min #14144
The SOFA community is made of SMEs, companies, universities and research centers. Job offers posted online are onsite positions for now. I guess it might depend on the institution. The only engineers working remotely are independent developers.
However, do not hesitate to contact any institution if one is of interest to ask about such remote position.

Hi guys. Astefanuk, I really liked your article about difference of software developer and engineer, but it somehow seems similar to difference between junior, mid and senior dev level positions (read here). And about the job position, I believe you already found the engineer you were looking for?17 June 2020 at 16 h 41 min #16659valerymeeParticipant

Hi everyone! Here is also a great article about offshore development2 March 2021 at 19 h 11 min #18784andrewstevensonParticipant
Hey! I worked with Java, Flutter, and Swift. What kind of requirements do you have? I also have a great experience, cause I worked with such mobile app developmentment companies like https://madappgang.com/services/security-ninja and their team are experts at creating security applications. Please, let me know what you think. Thanks!2 March 2021 at 19 h 14 min #18790
Our project is mainly C++ oriented. Therefore we are looking for C++/CMake/Qt devs and the best is to have good backgrounds in computational mechanics and numerical analysis in order to cover the basis of SOFA.
I am afraid Java, Flutter and Swift would not be of key interest for us know, but thank you for your interest and for posting.

Hi Hugo! Are you considering opening an offshore development office in Eastern Europe? We’ll handle the legal aspects, and you can focus entirely on your product.9 April 2021 at 11 h 16 min #19098
Thank you for your proposal. We are a non-profit initiative. Our staff is funded thanks to the support of our consortium partners and our donors, while the project developers are in companies and research institutes of the community. Such offshore dev is therefore not of interest for us.
